Sir Peter Dixon, the current chair of the board of University of London College Hospital, called on English Heritage last week to force NHS Islington (PCT) to refurbish Finsbury Health Centre in this article in Building Design, and again in the Islington Tribune this week. We’ve already had strong support from several EH officials on our case for refurbishment and keeping services at FHC, we can only hope that its Director Simon Thurley takes heed. Sir Peter has also signed our petition to keep Finsbury Health Centre open.
In the Islington Tribune this week, we replied to last week’s extraordinary interview with an NHS official about the proposed closure of Whittington A&E. He said their proposals for the whole of North London healthcare are modelled on the area as though it were “a blank sheet of paper”. Our letter is here.
